Appreciate everyone's comments, lets me know I'm not that abnormal in thinking about this question.

It just seems to me that with something as major as the WT being God's chosen servant, it wouldn't be relegated to non-existant status in public literature. They've stated for the record in study material that salvation depends on recognizing their authority and yet they don't want any nonJWs to know that they have any authority which doesn't make any sense. Maybe I'm wrong but for them not to advertise their authority to the public at large makes them bloodguilty to an extent. 99% of the global population is going to be destroyed at Armageddon for being ignorant of the fact that the GB has been put in charge of Christ's earthly interests. Seems like with this latest understanding of who the F&DS really is, MSNBC or Fox News would run a news report on it as people's live are on the line. Or at least the WT would make the major news outlets aware of how big this news is.

Reality Shows

i have slowly gotten more and more into watching reality shows.

from a lowly beginning, where the networks viewed them as trash tv, they are increasing in number.

they have all kinds of them, now.

Heather and Julie were roommates for a while after the show, that guy Kevin was/is full of shit, he's a up an running politician here in NYC, who was running for some title can't remember now. He has admitted to getting physical with his girlfrend in the past. I've read a few articles he has written, don't care for him at all, he's one of the many black young men who "wear in on their sleeve" if you know what I'm saying. You don' have to remind folks of your "ethnicity" every time you open your mouth !

From what I remember, Heather and Julie did get along real well on the show so that makes sense that they'd live together afterwards. Heather B actually married somone in my favorite rapper's crew. She married a guy that goes by the name of, Horse who's a close friend of Nas. I never really got into female rappers, but she was nice with it. Heard her as a guest on a few albums I consider personal favs.

I remember reading some time ago about Kevin going into politics. Mainly I remember the interview he did for Vibe magazine which had the legendary Death Row cover. After that he fell off my radar, and yeah I hear you all too well about black folk who wear it on their sleeve. I always felt people like that lack a certain substance and a true identity. It comes off to me like a form of herd identity that the individual feels the need to remind themself and others of. Kinda like Jehovah's Witnesses.

I do vaguely remember him having another domestic incident unrelated to Julie. She was sure terrified of being alone with him again after that situation. I wonder if they talk occasionally nowadays or even recently after that season ended? Has he ever admitted to more about that incident after the fact?

It's become really superficial, though. Now it's just frat boys and party girls, and seeing who will hook up with who.

So true, seemed like it started going downhill when one of the original producers/creators died.

I feel like an old man on this thread as I remember watching the first season of the Real World faithfully. I've always wondered what really happened between Kevin and Julie. Then the San Francisco season with Puck and Pedro was addictive.

Nowadays I can't watch reality , it just doesn't do anything for me. At work when the conversation turns into the latest on some reality show, I put my earbuds in. I do get a kick out of Turtleman though. I don't know if the prison documentaries count as reality tv, but I love those shows. Lockdown, and Lockup, can watch that stuff all day long.

If you just figured out that you're God's chosen spokesman, why only keep that between you and your pew? Why the bait & switch method on the unsuspecting newcomer? Why not just lay it out there?

When Jesus' raised Jairus' daughter from the dead he stated that she was sleeping. Between that and Ecclesiastes verse on the dead being conscious of nothing, I don't see anything wrong with saying rest in peace. Matter fact it would be fitting for more JWs to say RIP as it fits in harmony with their beliefs on the temporary condition of the dead. Their own literature likens death to sleep.

Cedars, may I ask you a question as a neutral observer? Is it possible that you're overly sensitive? I ask that sincerely because in my opinion, what you've taken to be as hostile and threatening, came off very mild to me. I've definately been in my fair share of hissy fits on this message board, but I can't help but notice that this thread went into category meltdown after the emotional responses exceeded far beyond what's rational and as others have mentioned you clearly made up a measure of the fuel.

It took me a long time to learn that this is simply a message board filled with a bunch of angry and hurt people myself included. Regardless at the end of the day, this is a message board, nothing more or less. There's a couple posters on here whom shall remain nameless that I would have loved to get my hands on their throats and whip the skin off of them, but at the end of the day they're several time zones away from me. That said, why let them get under my skin? It's reminds me of Epictetus thoughts on impressions, especially when dealing with other people in that it's not that they made you upset, but you let them and for that you can only blame yourself. To lose sleep over an anonymous poster on a public message board in which you're also anonymous and in your case probably in an entirely different country doesn't make any sense to me. I have this urge to listen to Biggie Smalls' What's Beef? all of a sudden.

It was apparantly taught that the starving and diseased people were purified by their condition, and in some cases her staff thought that she was concentrating too much on their "spiritiual conditions" rather than practical aid such as food and medicine.

Many ended up dying under the care of her refugee camps, and some are saying that in some cases it could have been prevented.

I never knew this, very intresting. That's actually sick. The only beef I ever had with her was her stance against contraceptives. It's irresponsible to say the least for someone to discourage contraception amongst those living in poverty and sickness. The folks in this country making all these damn babies while surviving on the State is bad enough. Mother Teresa took it to another level by going to countries and discouraging contraception where the poverty and ilk that comes with that territory makes the welfare types in this country look like middle class citizens. Her actions in that regard was like the sexual version of the Fast & Furious debacle.

So she was a blazing hypocrite too. Although to be fair, I imagine that others who've been granted sainthood have probably benefited from not being as popular and hence less scrutinized than Mother Teresa.

I have always wondered if she were perhaps not the victim herself of the rabid publicity that seemed to follow her everywhere...

We read similar arguments on here regarding die hard JWs, and even the GB. Valid argument as most on here will say that the average JW is an ok person but is brainwashed. A La' "Father forgive them for they......"
